'Melissa'..........oil on canvas panel..........11x15"
Upon meeting Melissa in one of my ballet classes, I was struck by her exotic and alluring appearance. She graciously agreed to model for one of our 3 hour painting sessions.
'Requiescence'........charcoal on paper........10x12"
25 minute sketch of Allison, one of my favored and graceful models.

On your game! Thanks for showing that great painting also requires great drawing... or at least it helps (a lot!). Love the warms.. and the model is a cutie too. Outta da park!
Great painting Jen. Very much Sargent like. Keep at it.
Great tone on the figure with the highlight erasure. Great job on the painting as well.
Jennifer, a fine portrait and a very moody drawing. Did the portrait take you really three hours?
Cheers......Stefan!
Bill,
Good news! Melissa is modeling for us on Wednesday night! Hope to see you there.

Thank you for the very generous compliment Kee!
I do plan on keeping this up until I am deceased.
See you on Wednesday night.
Thank you C.
Hi Stefan,
Actually the painting took me 2 and a half hours (excluding coffee and cookie breaks- yummm).
Beautiful as usual!! I really like the loose painterly touch you have!
Cheers... Andrew
You have amazing technique and control Jennifer. confident brush strokes in the portrait and nice feeling in the charcoal.
Jennifer. wow! I like the sketch and I love the portrait! The expression in it is very nice and has a real sense of a "moment" about it. realy nice! Your quick tone in the charcoal sketch is amazing too.. I can't believe you can pull of such structured drawings in such a short time.
cheers, Mike
Merci beacoup Andrew!
Robin,
I appreciate your comments! Thanks for visiting. I checked out your blog and thoroughly enjoyed your paintings. You too have a dauntless and fresh approach.
Michael,
Thank you!
It helps to have a cooperative and engaging model to capture the 'moment'.
I guess attending the workshops for so many years has built up my speed. ;-)
