Truck Bed

'Truck Bed'.........oil on canvas panel.........7x9inches
Another venture to Verdant with painting buddy Bill Moore compelled me to paint this stationary truck bed parked alongside a vacant warehouse located at the entrance of the equestrian park.
Bill painted the same view looking the opposite direction (check out his wonderful rendition on one of his previous blog posts).

Hi Jennifer... Thx for posting this. I was amazed after I saw it the first time and now I'm re-amazed all over again. I posted the same view for my dailies - and I am less amazed at my own efforts. But you have given me something to shoot for. thx!

Sparkling light, radiating heat. What a color temperature difference from Seattle. Makes my back feel better just looking at this painting. Love the light in the cast shadows.
I don't know how much time you spend drawing before you paint Jennifer, but your proportion and perspective are always right on.
Remarkable painting!

Please excuse the left handed compliment but I am however left handed.

I am amazed at how you can take something so plain and make it look so beautiful. Your work encourages me.

Jennifer.. This one looks really dynamic to my eye. Your drawing is right on as par usual, and I love the way you have hinted the feel of the crusty painted red metal on the back of the trailer bed without over doing it. Very nice indeed!

Thanks Robin!
I too can relate to the affliction of aching joints due to damp weather :(

I actually don't have too much time to spend on the drawing prior to painting because of the time constraints, however, I always make sure the major shapes I block in at the start are accurate and proportionate.
