'Taking a Break'...........oil on panel.............12x16"
While making my way through the exhibition booths at the Beverly Hill's art fair back in October, I came across a gentleman unwinding from a day's hard work. The sun dappled tents and luminous pink flower bed caught my eye. I found the high contrast lighting on the jaunty exhibitor to be quite appealing as well. I took a few reference photos and completed this painting at the studio.

Another wonderful painting, Jennifer. Apart from your great colour sense, your reduced brushwork, which shows your underpainting colour where you need it, is so outstanding.
Oh, I had forgotten to thank you for posting my links on your site. I have done the same with your links in hope that many people will see your work and that the people here in Europe will become more aware of that kind of painting, which is here almost extinct.

This is a really nice painting! You drafting ability becomes quite obvious with the figure in this piece. I love the pensive expression you've given the guy in the chair.. it's like he is reflecting on something after just having taken a lunch break.
